Challenge

I have a challenge for you all:

I talked about the 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 awhile ago in my Bible Study. Everyone gets excited when they hear "Love is patient, love is kind..." but it's not just love. God is patient and God is kind. We were challenged to replace "love" with God. God is not rude. God always protects, always trusts, always hopes. I remember thinking this wasn't much of a challenge. Then we replaced God with Jesus. Jesus always protects, always trusts, always hopes. Since we're made in the image of Christ, we were challenged to replace Jesus with our names. Wow-right off the bat-"Emily is patient" really doesn't flow; but it should. That's what I thought about and made *another* Lent goal (because I always give up something for Lent and add something) so in addition to giving up having a negative attitude about little things I can't change and sitting still and listening when I feel like God isn't always there, I've added replacing my name where love is in the scripture. I'm praying that by Easter, I can say with confidence "Emily is patient, Emily is kind..."
I included the verse below if you don't already know it...but I'm sure you do. Enjoy the challenge!

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails
