What a Savior

I recently heard my friend, Rachel, sing this song and it gave me chill bumps! I am in love with it now...hope you enjoy too!
XO

Atoning sacrifice
Keeper of this life
Hallelujah You are savior
Beginning and the end
Forgiver of my sin
By Your mercy You have saved us

CHORUS:
Jesus You are stronger
More than any other
Hallelujah what a savior
Jesus You are higher
My soul´s deepest desire
Hallelujah what a savior
You are the shepherd king
You lead us by still waters
Hallelujah You are savior

You are my only hope
Your kindness is my friend
In Your presence You restore us

You are the way the truth and the life
You are my joy and salvation
Stood in my place taking my shame
Upon Your shoulders

When The Waters Rise

In January, I went to Divine Rhythm. I heard this song there and clung to it as a prayer. Life goes on and things change. I don't know what brought me back to this song (God works that way) but I'm singing and praying it again today. I'd LOVE to share it with you. I encourage you to listen to it while singing along with the words. It's an amazing song and something I'm holding close to my heart. (For the complete story behind this song, check out Casey Darnell's website. This song comes from Isaish 43)
Love to you all.
Em

When The Waters Rise

You are, holding me together, with hands that hold forever
God, You are strong
And when the storm around me rages, Your love never changes
God, You are strong
And You are with me Lord,
Always with me Lord

When the waters rise around me I am safe
In the valley Lord, You are near always
You have me surrounded by your grace
When my strength is gone, I won't be afraid
You are with me always

My refuge, when the walls have fallen, You are near the broken
God, You are strong
For You make beauty from the ashes, with love that never ceases
God, You are strong
You are strong

When the waters rise around me I am safe
In the valley Lord, You are near always
You have me surrounded by your grace
When my strength is gone, I won't be afraid
You are with me always

When there seems no way, You are here with me
And this life brings pain, You are here with me
I won't be afraid, You are here with me
You are all I need and You are here with me

When the waters rise around me I am safe
In the valley Lord, You are near always
When the waters rise around me I am safe
In the valley Lord, You are near always
Oh Jesus
You have me surrounded by your grace
When my strength is gone, I won't be afraid
When my strength is gone, I won't be afraid
You are with me always

Challenge

I have a challenge for you all:

I talked about the 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 awhile ago in my Bible Study. Everyone gets excited when they hear "Love is patient, love is kind..." but it's not just love. God is patient and God is kind. We were challenged to replace "love" with God. God is not rude. God always protects, always trusts, always hopes. I remember thinking this wasn't much of a challenge. Then we replaced God with Jesus. Jesus always protects, always trusts, always hopes. Since we're made in the image of Christ, we were challenged to replace Jesus with our names. Wow-right off the bat-"Emily is patient" really doesn't flow; but it should. That's what I thought about and made *another* Lent goal (because I always give up something for Lent and add something) so in addition to giving up having a negative attitude about little things I can't change and sitting still and listening when I feel like God isn't always there, I've added replacing my name where love is in the scripture. I'm praying that by Easter, I can say with confidence "Emily is patient, Emily is kind..."
I included the verse below if you don't already know it...but I'm sure you do. Enjoy the challenge!

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails

How He Loves Us

This has been on my heart for a few weeks.

(Verse 1)
He is jealous for me
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy
When all of a sudden
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory
And I realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me

(Pre-Chorus)
And O how He loves us
Oh, O how He loves us
How He loves us all

(Chorus)
Yeah He loves us
O how He loves us
O how He loves us
O how He loves

(Verse 2)
We are His portion and He is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes
If grace is an ocean, we're all sinking
So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest
I don't have time to maintain these regrets
When I think about the way

Stronger

This is my song for the week. Enjoy!

There is love that came for us
Humbled to a sinner's cross you broke my shame and sinfuless you rose again victorious

Faithfulness none can deny through the strom and through the fire there is truth that sets me free Jesus Christ who lives in me

Chorus
You are stronger you are stronger
Sin is broken you have saved me it is written Christ is risen Jesus you are Lord of all

No beginning and no end You're my hope and my defence you came to seek and save the lost you paid it all upon the cross

So let your name be lifted higher
Be lifted higher be lifted higher
